Instrument description:

Electromagnet (1.5 T or 2.3 T selon pole gaps) to investigate magnetic coercivities with high precision and high sensibility.

Analyses performed with the instrument:

  • Hysteresis curves
  • Isothermal remanent magnetization curves (acquisition and backfield)
  • First Order Reversal Curves (FORCs)
  • Measurements at variable temperatures (77 – 950 K)
  • Can be applied to all kind of samples (rocks, sediments, soils, archaeological baked clays…)
  • Measurements on small fragments or powders (a few 100 mg)
